RTL and charity lotteries quit TV show Koffietijd

Koffietijd will stop after May 2023. This has been announced by RTL and the Dutch lotteries. Twelve years after the relaunch in 2010, the end is finally in sight for the morning talk show. And that means we will have to miss the sponsor talks about all kinds of skin care, the vagina week and the chatter about this and that. The morning programme Koffietijd will stop from May 2023, broadcaster RTL has announced. The programme was sponsored by the Charity Lotteries (National Postcode Lottery and Friends Lottery). They have decided that the programme no longer attracts enough viewers to continue its sponsorship. On average, between 110,000 and 160,000 people watch the show.

Lottery sponsorship ends

Peter van der Vorst, programme director at RTL, says he understands the choice of the Lotteries. 'Without their contribution, it is unfortunately not feasible for us to continue the programme. We are grateful to them for all those years in which they made Koffietijd possible.
