Holland Casino Utrecht is the first casino in the Netherlands to proudly obtain the Breeam label excellent for its newly built establishment. Breeam stands for Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method and is a sustainability hallmark for realising sustainable buildings with minimal environmental impact. It was a joint ambition of both Holland Casino and the municipality of Utrecht to really go for this - in the building world - outstanding sustainability label.

On 24 September 2019, the first stone was laid of the new establishment. Two years later, the new casino in Utrecht on the corner of the Winthontlaan and the Merwedekanaal in Utrecht opened its doors.

From the outside, it is seen as 'the diamond on the ring of Utrecht'. The establishment received this certification because it has its own power plant that generates cold and heat. This power plant uses canal water, among other things, and stores cold and heat in the ground.

Holland Casino Utrecht is a striking building with a unique character. The appearance ensures that the design does not escape attention. The design has a spatial character, due to its triangular shape and its reflections in the water of the adjacent canal. The eye-catching facade of the building is designed with bold, gold-coloured panels.
