Don't wait for luck to come your way. That is the message State Lottery is promoting in its New Year's Eve 2022 lottery. A new advertisement for the National Lottery's New Year's Eve lottery shows how when you embrace luck and don't wait for it to happen, beautiful things can happen for you. The music that frames the story comes from a special collaboration between composer Jorrit Kleijnen and Krezip singer Jacqueline Govaert.

What is the commercial about?

In the commercial titled "Don't Wait for Happiness to Happen to You", we follow a son who does not let his happiness depend on a big bonus as he embarks on life's journey with his father. The son visits his father at the retirement home where he lives and it is already all in the Christmas spirit. "We are going on a journey together again!" he exclaimed cheerfully. The son picked up an old photo of his father as a young man on a leash in the snow with a husky. When his father protested, he said, "I won! We watch Frida the husky and her friends as they travel through beautiful snowy landscapes and enjoy each other's company. The old man blossoms and the special bond between father and son is evident. When the old father returned, he told the other residents about his adventures with smells and colours. When the son left the nursing home, the staff member said, "Congratulations again, eh! ... Has won the national lottery!" The son put his hand in his jacket pocket and showed her his New Year's Eve lottery ticket: "Then I have to win first ".
