In the Netherlands, there is not much interest in betting on horse racing. The group of people interested in it consists mostly of older people. ZEbetting is the only organisation permitted to offer gambling on this sport. Despite the low level of interest, annual revenues amount to € 22.9 million.

ZEbetting, the company that operates the ZEturf betting platform, has received a licence for offering online betting in February 2022. This makes the company one of the 5 new companies to receive a Dutch licence from the KSA. Two licences were issued to the operator Jack's Casino Online at the same time.

The licence for ZEturf does have restrictions. The company is only allowed to offer gambling on sporting events. In practice, this means that at ZEturf you can only bet on horse races, as other sports are not offered on this platform. Casino games may not be offered due to the licence that has been granted.
