While smaller operators are struggling, the major licensed brands in the Netherlands, Holland Casino and Jack’s Casino, continue to stand their ground. Both companies hold official licenses from the KSA and are investing heavily in both land-based and online offerings.
Holland Casino: A state-backed operator
As a state-owned company, Holland Casino operates 14 venues nationwide and remains the country’s flagship brand. The operator is pushing for innovation, focusing not only on online gambling but also on making its physical casinos more of an entertainment destination.
Jack’s Casino: Expanding its digital reach
Jack’s Casino, part of JVH Gaming, has long been a dominant player in the slot hall market. Since the legalization of online gambling in 2021, the brand has expanded into sports betting and live casino, making it a strong competitor in the digital sphere.
Challenges ahead
Despite their stronger position, even these large operators face difficulties. Rising taxation and regulatory requirements are cutting into profits, while investments in player protection and compliance run into millions of euros.
Still, analysts agree that consolidation will favor the larger licensed brands, leaving them in control of the Dutch gambling market.
