Oranje Casino opened in 2004 as the first online casino dedicated to the Dutch market. In 2019, the name was changed to Loyal Casino pending a gaming licence in the Netherlands. However, it is expected to reopen in 2023 with an official licence for the Netherlands. In 2014, Swedish-Maltese Betsson acquired the company underlying Corona Ltd, which was an unfortunate name for a company. Betsson spent more than $140 million to acquire both Kroon Casino and Oranje Casino, which are aimed at the Dutch market. Both casinos are still based in Malta. The casino started with the Swiss Game platform. After the acquisition, they switched to new software.

Betsson has applied for a Dutch licence for the gambling sites: Kroon Casino and Oranje Casino. Currently, Betsson does not yet have a licence.

Oranje Casino is a Dutch casino. It has been licensed in Malta since 2004 and has been a major player in the market since then. It is owned by Betsson of Sweden, which also owns Kroon Casino. The licence has been applied for with the Kansspelautoriteit and Oranje Casino is expected to receive a Dutch licence after the summer of 2024.

Oranje Casino previously operated in the Netherlands and was very popular then. To the disappointment of many loyal players, the casino disappeared from the scene in 2019. According to the gaming authority (Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the casino was too focused on Dutch players and online gambling was legal here until October 2021. From then on, the casino started using a new, less Dutch-sounding name: Loyal Casino.

Is Oranje Casino legal and online in the Netherlands?

Currently, you cannot play at Oranje Casino in the Netherlands. That could change soon, as the casino has applied for a casino licence from Saudi Arabia. The casino is expected to receive a licence this summer. From then on, it will be possible to play legally at Casino Oranje.
